Public service is in my roots!
A career in public service:
Employed with the Wyandotte County District Attorney’s Office since January 2017.
Tried cases from traffic to capital murder.
Handle civil cases that arise from criminal prosecutions.
Argued before the Kansas Supreme Court and Kansas Court of Appeals, writing more than 75 briefs to those courts.
Work with Wyandotte County’s Specialty Courts, which include Drug Court, Behavioral Health Court, and Veterans Treatment Court.
Worked in the Shawnee County District Attorney’s Office from my law school graduation until 2017.
A life of community service:
Life member of the Girl Scouts of America (joined in the 1st grade as a Brownie and earned the Silver Award), Presidential Liaison of the Women’s Relief Corp., member of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, pending membership in the Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War, and a member of the Wyandotte County Historical Society.
Past President of the Wyandotte County Bar Association and Member of the Kansas Bar Association. Serves on the Continuing Legal Education Committee of the Kansas County/District Attorney Association.
Provides over 175 hours of community service a year, while still working more than 40 hours a week.
Education was just the start:
Graduate of Washburn University School of Law
Graduated with Honors.
Earn a certificate in advocacy with distinction and distinguish pro bono honors.
Graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Education from Kansas State University.
Received the College of Education’s Outstanding Undergraduate Student Award.
Family is everything:
I married my high school sweetheart, Brock Roehler. He and his family immigrated to the United States in 1988. He chose to become a United States citizen in 2002.
My father served in the United States Army during Operation Desert Storm. He was stationed at Fort Riley. He was medically discharged at the rank of captain. My mother worked to help individuals find employment through Bossler Brown and Associates.
